The history of DogBox

Our Story – 

We’d like to tell the story of where Dog Box Games began.

During the early months of 2020, all of the team members were getting on with their final modules of university and having a jolly old time. Then a lockdown appeared from a global pandemic… One of the many unfortunate (or fortunate in hindsight) side effects of the pandemic was that it gave us a lot of time to ponder our next move…

After spending much time deep in thought (boredom) and looking around the house for something to do, it dawned on Rob that he couldn’t see his dog Bentley anywhere in the house. After calling him and looking around there was no sign of him, so off into the garden he went. There, he could see a signature bum and unique lightning bolt tail sticking out of a hedge, Bentley had made friends with a family of hedgehogs and often went to check on them, always excited whenever they returned. 

During the multiple lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, this event broke the mundane routine of the day, it was the most exciting 12 minutes in months… So Rob set about putting an idea together for a game and approached (digitally, we were in lockdown after all) a group of friends and “Finding Bentley” was born.

The team was put together based on Rob’s trust in members specific and unique abilities. Corey joined as the art lead, Alex joined as Sound designer and Tom joined to head up technical design. Summing up each member’s abilities in one title does not do them justice, each of us are passionate about what we do and have adapted our skillset to different things.
